The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, making the whole workshop relaxed and enjoyable from start to finish. It was especially fun to share the experience with our friends and compare the perfumes we created at the end.
A fantastic and memorable experience in Nice, and something a little different from the usual sightseeing. We left with our own personalized perfumes and a great memory to take home.

The basic run down is that there are top heart and base notes and roughly 3-4 scents max for each, and sort of expected hours of longevity. So this is fine and for 1 hour it is kind of hard to cram in more info. I would probably send out an info sheet on perfumes and example combinations so guests can do their own little homeworks before going.
They give these paper testers that you can dip and you can have multiple papers etc to waft and get an idea of the end product. This is fine but from a practical point of view it is hard to determine what the final scent is because the ratios are determined by the guide. This could be alleviated again, by giving a sort of primer of what to expect around concentrations.
The atelier has multiple tables that house a rotating platform holding the scents. Each table seats around 8 people. And the rotating scents are all fairly unique. For 8 people to share one table is a little frustrating because the scents are shared and thus sometimes people will take something or try to spin the table (to get another selection). This means that for me to find a scent I want, I must really coordinate with others about spinning the platform. I've been to other ateliers where each person gets their own selection of scents! So either do this or actually use the entire space as I noticed one extra empty table and benches. While sharing is not that big of an issue, I can see how some more timid people will end up suffering.
Ultimately, I really did enjoy the session. I really liked how nice the host was too. Kinda just wish I had more time or could make better informed decisions regarding things I chose.

The session was well-structured, guiding us through top, heart, and base notes. I loved experimenting with different combinations, balancing bright, fresh notes with warmer, spicy, and woody accords. The instructor was knowledgeable and helpful in guiding the proportions to ensure the final composition turned out balanced and wearable.
Leaving with a personalized 50ml bottle (and my unique formula saved for future reorders) makes for such a special keepsake. Highly recommend this workshop to anyone who loves fragrance or wants a unique, hands-on experience!

One thing that could make the workshop even more memorable would be incorporating a bit more information about Molinard’s history, fragrance creation, or the perfume world in general. During the 20-30 mins spent selecting aroma notes, we were left alone to explore on our own. It might add more value to the experience if that time included some storytelling or insights from the facilitator. I think it would make the workshop feel more immersive and enriching, not only the hands-on process of choosing and blending the scents.

She walked me through instructions clearly with helpful tips to follow my nose. It was fascinating to learn how slight adjustments of identical ingredients can create completely different perfume combinations. She asked me thoughtful questions as we narrowed down my choices for Top, Heart, and Base notes. By the end, I was pleased with my perfume. I loved exploring and learning with Anastasia in the spirit of one of the world's oldest perfume houses. It was a highlight of my trip to Nice and France.
I would recommend this experience to anyone interested in perfume chemistry or the history of French perfume. Since there are more 'note' bottles than there is time to smell/choose, it could be wise to have some awareness of what notes you are drawn to in advance. Not required, but I would recommend doing some scent exploration before your appointment by researching perfumes you like and their Top/Heart/Base notes. See if you have a pattern. I found that knowing some specific notes I liked and didn't like helped maximize my time, prevent "dead nose"/olfactory fatigue, and be more relaxed to sniff/choose and enjoy myself. I hope you give it a go and enjoy.

For unexperienced customers, the advice from the teacher is crucial. The teacher would help to delete some flavors not going well with others and perhaps add other flavors to make the combination better. In this sense, the time each customer can be assisted by the teacher makes difference. In my session, in the beginning, the teacher helped the customers in the sequence of they finished their choices, which is totally ok. But when it came to my turn, the teacher intentionally skipped me and went to a family with kids. The teacher spent much time with them and I was left unattended until the class time expired. When the teacher finally came to to, she spent very little time on me and made almost no adjustment on my choices. She said my choices were good, but in that context I could not rule out the possibility that the real reason was she had no time for me.
After class I asked the teacher why I was skipped, the answer was kid first and family would be all served before other customers can be helped. As a single adult customer who paid as much as anyone else, I felt I was discriminated. If "kids first, family first" is the policy, it should be disclosed so that single customers are fully aware before they decide attend the class.

It is normal that our expert left you a moment of independent olfaction. This step allows each participant to explore and select essences freely, without external influence. For the perfume formulation, the expert always starts with the participant who finished olfaction first to respect everyone’s rhythm. In your case, your perfume was created just after the family, and your choices were coherent and complementary, allowing the expert to quickly craft a harmonious composition. We understand that the explanation about the time given to the family may have been misunderstood. This was not discrimination, but a necessary organization within a group workshop, where time is shared among all participants. We note that the explanation could have been better communicated and will ensure this is improved in future sessions. Smelling the different scents and determining what was specific to my pheremones was an adventure.
I would suggest coffee beans because all those scents can be a bit overwhelming. A great time and the hosts were knowledgeable and patient.

The location was ok but too loud in the training room. Too much people, too loud, not quiet, no learning possible, no kndividual questions and support. 60 min too short, no tome, stressful and not ok when everyone is speakimg and commenting each word. For us it was not inspirational. Too expensive for a bottle with essences not smelling like a parfume. After 2 minutes the smell appears. Sad about the reccomendation we thought it would be a small classroom trsining with introduction and insights to fragrances. Was not. 20 mintes we just waitet to get support for next steps because all others where still steps behind and not on time. Finally it took 90 minutes but no ambience, no impression, no learning. Too loud and smaller classrooms just 6 people would be best. And telli g people to listen, be quiet when they have to smell and concentrate. We spent 200 euro for notthing. Realy sad. Disappointed.

Unfortunately we had one unpleasant thing: we took our son with us, who didn't make perfume, he just helped us. To avoid misunderstandings, we wrote to the organizers 1 week before the workshop and asked if this could be a problem. They reassured us that there would be no problem and they will do their best to let him sit at our table to see everything and accompany us. Nevertheless, on the day of the workshop we were told by the instructor, that this could not be done because the workshop is full, but exceptionally they are now letting our son in. The situation was very unpleasant, this is exactly what we wanted to avoid with the preliminary inquiry. They should definitely work on the communication between themselves.

Il y avait un grand groupe sur une autre table avec lequel, la dame qui s'occupait de moi aussi, passait beaucoup de temps .
Trop d'arômes à flairer en peu de temps (1h), difficile à choisir quand on n'a pas l'habitude et la confection du parfum à emporter était assez imprécise car les flacons du tourniquet étaient presque vides et il était difficile d'aspirer et mesurer le liquide avec la pipette , de là que le résultat était très approximatif, je n'ai pas réussi à remplir avec les proportions correctes mon flacon qui est resté un bon centimètre au dessous du niveau du bouchon.
Je croyais apprendre un peu plus sur la composition ou les choix pour faire un parfum mais cela n'a pas été le cas.

Les conseils, les explications de l'animatrice m'ont permis de comprendre comment on crée un parfum et j'ai pu créer MA fragrance, qui me plait beaucoup.
Seul bemol, je trouve que mon eau de toilette ne dure pas longtemps du tout, olfactivement parlant.
Je n'ai rencontré aucune difficulté pour la reservation, qui offre pas mal de disponibilté.
Je recommande vivement cet atelier, qui restera un beau souvenir, original, de Nice : MA propre creation, moi qui adOre le parfum

Concernant la qualité de nos créations, nous travaillons en concentration Eau de parfum (plus élevée que l'Eau de Toilette...) avec des essences produites à Grasse. En se basant sur le principe de pyramide olfactive, vous créez un parfum composé de plusieurs essences aux volatilités différentes (tête, cœur, fond) ce qui permet au parfum d'être équilibré et de le faire évoluer tout au long de la journée, grâce aux notes de fond, plus intenses, qui le prolongent. Ce qui peut vous donner l'impression de ne plus sentir votre parfum après quelques heures est le simple fait que votre cerveau s'habitue à l'odeur car pour lui, elle n'est pas associée à un danger et peut donc être mise en sommeil pour laisser place à de nouvelles odeurs dans votre champ olfactif. Mais rassurez-vous : votre parfum est bien présent et votre entourage peut le sentir. Nous vous invitons à le pulvériser sur des points chauds (ex : l’intérieur des coudes, le décolleté, derrière les oreilles...) pour que vous le réactiviez grâce aux mouvements et échauffements et ainsi puissiez le redécouvrir durant la journée... Bonjour Claudie, Merci d'avoir pris le temps de partager votre expérience, nous sommes ravis que votre atelier vous ait plu. Concernant la qualité de nos créations, nous travaillons en concentration Eau de parfum (plus élevée que l'Eau de Toilette...) avec des essences produites à Grasse. En se basant sur le principe de pyramide olfactive, vous créez un parfum composé de plusieurs essences aux volatilités différentes (tête, cœur, fond) ce qui permet au parfum d'être équilibré et de le faire évoluer tout au long de la journée, grâce aux notes de fond, plus intenses, qui le prolongent. Ce qui peut vous donner l'impression de ne plus sentir votre parfum après quelques heures est le simple fait que votre cerveau s'habitue à l'odeur car pour lui, elle n'est pas associée à un danger et peut donc être mise en sommeil pour laisser place à de nouvelles odeurs dans votre champ olfactif. Mais rassurez-vous : votre parfum est bien présent et votre entourage peut le sentir. Nous vous invitons à le pulvériser sur des points chauds (ex : l’intérieur des coudes, le décolleté, derrière les oreilles...) pour que vous le réactiviez grâce aux mouvements et échauffements et ainsi puissiez le redécouvrir durant la journée... Concernant le temps de création, nous offrons d'autres types d'Ateliers que le "Classique", l'Atelier "Prestige" notamment, d'une durée de 2h conviendra surement plus à vos besoins. I booked the atelier during the weekend in Nice for my friend's bachelorette party and we were all very Happy with the experience.

Nous avons une équipe internationale qui a à cœur de vous accueillir dans les meilleures conditions en vous apportant tout leur soin et leur expertise pour la réalisation de votre création unique. Pour rappel, vous avez réservé un atelier Classique en groupe d'1h, il est donc tout à fait normal que vous réalisiez votre Atelier avec plusieurs personnes en même temps. Cependant, si vous souhaitez un accompagnement personnalisé et privatif, vous avez la possibilité de réserver un Atelier Prestige de 2h. Votre experte parfum a gentiment essayé de vous aiguiller au mieux et de vous expliquer le bon fonctionnement de l'Atelier : en effet nous consacrons 20 minutes à l'olfaction car au delà votre nez sature et il faut que vous puissiez encore sentir votre accord final. De plus, nous conservons précieusement toutes les formules afin que vous ayez la possibilité de la recommander ultérieurement et que votre parfum puisse ainsi véritablement devenir votre signature olfactive ! C'est pour cela que nous vous écrivons de notre plus belle plume, à la fin de l'Atelier, un diplôme reprenant tous les éléments de votre formule ainsi que son code unique pour que vous puissiez repartir avec. Nous sommes ravis que votre création finale soit un coup de cœur et nous espérons avoir pu répondre au mieux à vos doutes concernant le déroulé de votre Atelier. Néanmoins, le temps de 60 minutes est trop restreint et ne permet pas de prendre son temps. On se sent un peu pressé par le temps. Une plage de 90 minutes serait bien plus adaptée. Si tel est le cas, je participerai volontier une nouvelle fois.

Ce que j'ai aimé c'est la liberté que l'ont as au moment de la création de son parfum tout en étant accompagné à chaque instant, ce qui m'a plu également c'est le grand nombre d'essence à disposition ce qui permet un large choix.

J'ai réservé pour l'atelier classique de 50ml, c'était pour un cadeau et je trouve l'activité super.
L'idée est bonne, on découvre davantage le monde du parfum, on découvre de nouvelles senteurs. Créér son parfum qui nous correspond est juste incroyable.
La séance était super intéressante, les explications simples et compréhensibles.

Until the young host lady (who supposed to be a professional perfumer) wrote her "formula" in 3 min after very short chat about our ideas for our perfumes.
The result for my perfume:
1. She added white musk in spite I told her I don't like it and I chose woody oil. She insisted it will balance! the smell.
2. She added raspberry I didn't choose.
3. She "forgot" to add lavender we agreed before.
The result is - NOTHING EVEN CLOSE to the smell I created. In the end It is only smell of white musk I hated in a first place!!
In my mom's perfume:
1. The lady added lavender my mom didn't chose.
2. She added 12 units of only one ingredient in her formula and this smell wasn't main note to begin with!
The result is - ABSOLUTELY horrible old fashioned 1900-ish fragrance instead of tender rose/grapefruit fantasy spring smell.
What a shame for such old historical perfume brand like Molinard to have such unprofessional employees who doesn't care at all about good results for the customers who traveled around the World to have this experience.
Absolutely waste of money!!

C’est une expérience exceptionnelle, spécifiquement à Molinard, que je referai avec grand plaisir si je suis de retour à Nice.

Expérience magique que de pouvoir créer son propre parfum et avoir été conseillé par Irina. Elle a su exactement m’aider pour assembler les fleurs choisies. 1 000 mercis à elle.
C’est le luxe par excellence d’autant plus qu’il est possible de recommander sa création au sein de votre boutique.
Je ne pensais pas avoir la possibilité d’accéder à ce type de création aussi facilement.
Être unique grâce à son parfum et être sûr que cela me convienne.
Je recommande évidemment.
Aucune difficulté à la réservation. Accueil parfait. Rien ne m’a déplu.
Je pense que je vais m’inscrire de nouveau à cet atelier pour la création d’un parfum hivernal. Nous n’avons évidemment pas les mêmes émotions dans l’élaboration de la création selon les saisons….
De plus, j’ai perdu quelque peu l’odorat par intermittence avec le Covid mais vos parfums d’excellentes qualités m’ont permis de réaliser quand même cet atelier.
Excellent cadeau au demeurant pour un anniversaire par exemple. Vivre une expérience unique dans un cadre hors norme que ce soit sur Nice ou Paris.

Je déplore juste le fait que la personne qui anime L'atelier soit seule et régulièrement dérangée par le passage des clients en boutique . Elle est restée souriante et disponible pendant tout L'atelier mais pour les participants c'est très désagréable. Ayant été plus longtemps que prévu sur place nous avons eu besoin d'aller aux toilettes et là franchement on bascule dans un autre univers !!! C'était décrépi et sale !!! Nous avons fait L'atelier le premier jour de la semaine et les poubelles n'étaient même pas vidées et le manque d'hygiène assez effrayant !!! Vraiment à revoir ! Ne serait-ce qu'un coup de peinture et de l'hygiène !!
C'est une activité que nous recommandons malgré tout vivement. Un superbe moment à vivre avec une amie !!!

L’endroit est super joli, accueillant, on s’y sent bien.
Concernant l’activité, nous étions juste mon mari et moi, donc atelier plus personnalisé qu’à 20 personnes.
Un conseil: faites le en saison creuse. La personne qui anime l’activité sait ce qu’elle fait, nous aide à composé de façon personnelle notre parfum.
Personnel compétent, à l’écoute…
Mon parfum je ne le quitte plus.

En revanche nous n'avions pas compris que l'atelier était limité à 45 minutes et nous pensions qu'il devait durer 2 heures (je ne sais pas si j'avais mal compris, mal lu), du coup nous avons été un peu pressés ce qui nous a un peu stressé du coup.
Peut être donc préciser au début de l'atelier le déroulement de l'atelier avec le temps consacré.
Je recommande vivement cette expérience.

I did not attend my Perfume class in Nice due to the Corona Virus. I reached out via email, sent to the email address listed on your website first on April 15th asking for a refund or whom to speak with as my flights to Europe from the US were cancelled, therefore making it impossible to attend. When I did not receive a response, I followed up with a second email on April 20th again to the email on your website, [email protected]. And finally a third time on May 11th. I then followed up with submitting a message on your website on May 17th. I have yet to hear from anyone and would greatly appreciate a full refund as I did not attend the workshop nor did anyone respond back to me in a timely manner.

Il faut saluer la disponibilité et la sympathie de Felicia, experte passionnée et passionnante qui sait parfaitement adapter son discours au niveau des participants (dont les novices comme moi).
Le prix de l'activité pour 1h (69€) pourrait sembler élevé, mais il est largement justifié par la qualité de la prestation et le plaisir de repartir avec un flacon de sa propre création.

Me and my girlfriend participated together with another couple. We each made our own perfume, they did it
for each other. A romantic idea of course, but could be a little pricy if you both don't like the perfume your SO made.
We both loved our perfumes and will definitely be ordering more if our bottles are finished (really like this service).
The only slight downside is the fact that you don't really 'learn' anything. You smell about 80 different scents and
you get help with pairing them, but I would've liked some more explanation why some scents work with each other
or not.
Great experience overall.

The booking process was a breeze, I booked and paid online and got the confirmation for all each of us. We even arrived 20 minutes before our session and they were so nice to let us in before our time and start the workshop.
I would definitely recommend this to everyone because even if you're not that into perfumes, the experience was so fun and to know that you made something that was only yours makes it so much better!

The staff at Molinards were very friendly and helpful. I was surprised by what a large bottle of perfume you are given at the end.
All in all I would recommend this for one person or a group of friends.

I personally work in the fragrance industry & this experience opened my eyes AND my olfactory sense even more!
I would highly recommend this to (& I have to many so far) anyone who wants to delve deeper into the world of perfumery & discover scents/ingredients by creating your own personal unique blend that you get to take away with you, what’s not to love??

2. booking was easy but during the workshop there was no information. I think the lady also did not know about the essences and to creation of a parfume

The only thing I didn’t like is the time, we were asked to pick our notes in 30 minutes which I think was short, I felt really rushed as the time wasn’t enough to smell all the scents, & I didn’t want to rush my choices so I end up with a result I like.
Definitely would recommend to friends, & I myself might do it again if I’m back at nice.

By way of background, I have been on several courses on perfume-blending, I have a fair collection of perfume essences, and I have held (while admitting my amateur status) perfume blending sessions for refugees and friends. But I have never made a perfume that pleased me more than on this course - which I will now describe.
Felice (I believe that was her name - sorry if I have miss-spelled it), was an excellent educator and nose, giving my group a great overview of the history of perfume and the top, heart and base notes and their effect on a scent.
The wide variety of scents we had to choose from were of the highest-quality; the jasmine and violet for instance that I sampled were gorgeous.
I knew I wanted a Violet-based perfume with a powdery finish. With Felice's help, that was exactly what I wound up with, after short-listing my favourite top, heart and base notes. She is obviously highly trained and very creative.
Expect to see me back soon, and whatever I make in future, I will be ordering more of the creation I made at your Nice Studios. Thank you.

Generally, I would have just appreciate it, if we received some more support from the "experts" (we pretty much just got a 5 mins intro and then were left to mix the perfumes and scents ourselves). However, still a very positive and fun experience!
